I designed Neopausia’s platform from scratch — a femtech product built to support women through perimenopause and menopause.

This project tackled a sensitive and often overlooked topic through empathy, design, and technology, creating distinct flows for patients and healthcare professionals.

We collaborated closely with the founding team and developers to craft a clear, human-centered experience validated by real users.

The platform was designed with a mobile-first approach, ensuring smooth, accessible navigation. Each flow was carefully crafted to translate clinical complexity into simple, intuitive interactions — helping users understand their health journey and feel supported every step of the way.

Challenge:

Designing a platform from scratch for a highly diverse audience — with different symptoms, experiences, and needs — in an underrepresented context like menopause. The solution had to be clear, empathetic, and accessible, considering two distinct user profiles (patients and healthcare professionals) whose flows needed to connect at key points. All of this had to be implemented in a mobile-first product that was scalable and easy to navigate, even for less tech-savvy users.

Goals:

  • Design a clear and empathetic experience for women going through perimenopause or menopause.

  • Translate clinical processes into simple, understandable flows.

  • Build trust and ease across complex flows while respecting the emotional context.

  • Enable intuitive interaction between patients and professionals.

  • Validate flows with real users and optimize based on feedback.

Solution:

The process began with user-centered research, mapping real symptoms, frustrations, and needs. Then I designed the flows for both patients and professionals in parallel, ensuring consistency and connection between profiles. Each stage was tested with real users to guarantee clarity and empathy in a sensitive topic. I also developed a reusable component kit to support design scalability and maintain visual consistency across the platform.

Results:

The solution was validated through user testing and interviews. The applied improvements significantly reduced friction in critical flows. The final product delivered a more coherent and empathetic experience for both user types, and the founding team highlighted the clarity of the design as a key enabler for future iterations with the development team.
