Design System
Saludtech's Design System
Saludtech is the largest digital clinic in Chile, with over 40 medical specialties and three core platforms: patients, professionals, and operations. As the product rapidly scaled, it led to visual and functional inconsistencies across different user interfaces.
I was in charge of designing a complete Design System to unify the experience, improve clarity and scalability, and facilitate implementation by the technical team. The system had to adapt to both webapp-like flows and more complex SaaS-like workflows.
The final result was a robust Design System documented in Figma, with over 40 components grouped into categories (brand, basic, custom, and extra). Each component was delivered with its corresponding states, usage guidelines, and best practices.

Challenge:
The product was fragmented across three very different user groups, with no shared visual foundation. It was essential to unify the visual identity, improve navigation clarity per user profile, scale with new features, and reduce the design and implementation workload for the tech team.
Goals:
Visually unify the product across all platforms (patient, professional, operations).
Create a scalable, clear system with reusable, documented components.
Design flows tailored to each user type’s needs and logic.
Establish consistent visual and functional standards across webapp and SaaS-style sections.
Design all components in Figma with states, sizes, and use cases.
Document each component’s proper usage and deliver the system in both editable file and PDF.
Solution:
I started by analyzing the three platforms through the lens of their workflows and user needs, conducting a benchmark focused on scalability, accessibility, and visual consistency. I designed over 40 components, categorized by type (brand, basic, custom, extra), all with defined states, clear hierarchies, and applied microinteractions. Each component was fully documented with visual guides and explanatory notes. The final system was delivered as a Figma file and PDF, enabling the dev team to implement and scale it autonomously.
Results:
The Design System successfully unified the visual and functional experience across the three platforms: patients, professionals, and operations, while respecting the unique needs of each audience. With the detailed documentation and interactive prototype in Figma, the dev team was able to implement the components clearly and consistently. The system laid a solid foundation for future scalability, providing a reusable visual guide aligned with well-defined standards. The client praised the clarity of the process, the design vision, and the attention to detail throughout the project.
